In Glenalbyn we are dedicated to the development of Water Polo. The Academy is run by a joint effort from parents, players, qualified coaches and ex-internationals.
The academy takes place every Sunday from 1-2pm. Both boys and girls from the age of 8 and up are very welcome. It is a pay as you go system which means if you can’t come one week you don’t make a loss. The academy provides an opportunity for children of all ages to develop their skills in a team sport. It is ideal for anyone interested in harnessing their swimming ability through team interaction.
The academy is coached by senior players and ex-international players. Their knowledge and experience is very beneficial to all who attend the academy. In order for the academy to keep its coaching standards to a premium many of the coaches have undergone coaching training and child protection courses.
The academy is divided into three main groups according to age and ability, with each group having an individual coach. Glenalbyn swimming pool has a shallow end which is ideal for beginners as the learn the basics. When they have mastered the basics they can then move into the deep end.
This years academy has been a huge success and we wish to thanks all those who were involved in various ways through out the year.
